Mtb pants review - Pantagonia

For 2026 Patagonia has stepped up there line of mountain bike clothing. From Jerseys to pants. I have always been impressed by Patagonia clothing. Here is a review on what I though of this line I have been testing.

This year they have a few different varieties of Pants called dirt roamers. With two different varieties. And different price tag. There are some notable differences but mostly a zipper on the calf, that allows for my access for pads or shoes etc. The Roamers are $199 and storm pants $299. I like them they reminded me of Troy Lee sprint ultras. Same type of material. Minimal pockets, sleek in general. Personally I ride in places with lots of wildlife and need quick access to my pockets, for bear mace. These pants don’t have that. Two side thigh pockets. Personally I’ve been running 7 Mesh and I love them, as the have many pockets, also a steep price tag. So..

In all if your looking for a good pant to race or ride bike parks in these are amazing, and has the Patagonia name. Just shop for price as lots of the time they do go on sale.

My favorite Patagonia has for its line this year for my riding, dirt jumping, quick access not something I can’t just sit around in. I give you the Everyday Outdoor Pants

These range from 80 to 100 dollars. They come with a built in belt. Two side cargo pockets and two regular waist pockets and are in style with a roomy feel. Good for pads underneath if need be. They have the quick access, lightweight, but tough. They seem to me they will be the most popular for many reasons. I’ve been riding them for a week and love them. Also you won’t feel weird wearing them around they just look like what they are called.

So in wrap up I think if your choosing a race style pant for whatever reason. The Dirt roamers are great similar price to competitors. The storm ones are a bit overkill unless you really need that calf side zipper to open the pants. Also you support a great company like Patagonia that gives so much back to the outdoors.

If you like the more loose feel, that “Everyday” feel, I recommend these over the others because they are more practical for “Everyday “ wear and tear. It’s a new style and its benefits show up. Hope this helps with your riding purchases!
